The mountains are more than a workplace for us. They are where our profession becomes our passion, where a daily choice turns into a lifestyle, and where inspiration renews itself with every season. At Cortina ProSport, we live and work among the Dolomites, and this privilege comes with a responsibility we take seriously: the mountains are a delicate territory that deserves protection and care in return for everything they offer us.

This reflection led us to ask ourselves a simple but important question: what can we do to give something back to the mountain that gives us so much? The answer took shape in a project we’re proud to share with our customers — La FattorMia di Cortina ProSport.

What is La FattorMia di Cortina ProSport?

La FattorMia di Cortina ProSport is an environmental sustainability and social responsibility project. Its purpose is to support the people who work every day to care for our territory: protecting the environment, preserving native biodiversity, and keeping alive ancient professions that risk disappearing altogether.

We’re talking specifically about local farms — small, family-run businesses built on organic production and excellence. These farms do far more than produce food. They actively shape the beauty of the landscape around us, including through practices as simple and essential as mowing the lawns that keep the alpine meadows open and healthy. Without this quiet, ongoing work, the mountain landscapes we all love to ski through, hike across, and photograph would look very different.

Supporting these farms means supporting the people who maintain the character of the Dolomites, season after season, often without much recognition. Through La FattorMia di Cortina ProSport, we wanted to change that.

A partnership built on shared values

To bring this project to life, we partnered with FattorMia, an innovative start-up with a straightforward but powerful idea: allowing individuals, schools, and companies across Italy to adopt plants and animals. FattorMia connects people who care about sustainability with the farms and producers who put that care into practice every day.

Together, we designed a project to support two farms close to home:

The Santer farm, located in Cortina d’Ampezzo, right at the heart of the territory we work in every day.

The SanWido farm, located in San Vito di Cadore, a short distance from Cortina and equally committed to organic, small-scale farming.

Both farms represent exactly the kind of local, family-run excellence we wanted to highlight and support. They embody a way of working with the land that is patient, respectful, and increasingly rare — and they deserve to be better known.

How the project works

We built La FattorMia di Cortina ProSport to be as simple and transparent as possible, so that every customer can take part without any complications.

When you rent your ski or snowboard equipment with us, you have the option to donate 1 euro, or more if you wish, to support the project. It’s a small gesture that asks nothing extra of your holiday, but it makes a real difference to the farms we’re supporting.

In return, we offer something we think makes the experience genuinely meaningful. For one full year after your donation, you can log into the reserved area of the FattorMia portal and follow monthly updates from the farms. Month after month, you’ll be able to learn about the life cycle of the animals you’ve helped support, see how the farms evolve throughout the seasons, and stay connected to a small piece of the Dolomites long after your ski trip has ended.

It’s a way of turning a single visit to Cortina d’Ampezzo into an ongoing relationship with the territory — one that continues whether you’re back home in the city or planning your next winter holiday with us.

Why we chose to do this

As a business built around renting ski and snowboard equipment, our activity depends on the mountains staying beautiful, accessible, and well cared for. We see, every single day, how much effort goes into keeping the Dolomites the way they are: not just from ski lift operators and piste maintenance teams, but from farmers, shepherds, and small agricultural businesses working quietly in the background.

We wanted La FattorMia di Cortina ProSport to be more than a marketing initiative. We wanted it to be a real bridge between our customers and the people who protect this landscape. Every euro donated goes toward supporting farms that practice organic agriculture, preserve native biodiversity, and keep traditional rural knowledge alive for future generations.

At the same time, we wanted to give something back to our customers too — not just the satisfaction of contributing to a good cause, but a genuine window into the life of these farms. Watching the monthly updates, seeing the animals grow, and understanding the rhythm of farm life throughout the year adds a layer of connection to the mountains that goes well beyond a week of skiing.

Want to do more? Adopt an animal yourself

Donating at the time of your equipment rental is a simple way to get involved, but if you’d like to go further, FattorMia makes it possible to adopt directly. You can choose your animal, complete the adoption, visit the farm in person, and even collect the farm’s products as part of the experience.

It’s an opportunity to build a closer, more personal connection with the territory: to meet the people behind the farms, see firsthand how they work, and understand the care that goes into every product they produce. For many of our customers, this turns into something they look forward to on every future visit to Cortina d’Ampezzo.
